Even CentOS 9 has something slightly older:
[apinski@xeond2 gcc]$ rustc --version
rustc 1.82.0 (f6e511eec 2024-10-15) (Red Hat 1.82.0-1.el9)

ubuntu 2204 has either 1.27.1 or 1.75.0 which the earliest LTS supported
ubuntu.
