Ordinarily I would simply ping the existing patches, but Alexandre
asked me to resend the series and CC him.
I've rebased the series and consequently made minor changes. Nothing
important has changed -- I added pass-instances.def to generated_files
(in patch #2) and of course the list of deleted things in patches #14
and #18 changes with each rebase.
