I trust you'll understand why I haven't yet replied to the roughly three-dozen messages that came roaring through today. It's been a lot to absorb.
I will start by saying, "Thank you". I didn't fully understand the implications of adding 100,000 or so lines of code, especially when our understanding of the build infrastructure was so incomplete, and it has been remarkable to see the speed and diligence that has been brought to the effort. Thank you again. I can assure you that we will attempt to match that diligence as best we can. There will be some of the standard delays; you folks in Europe start your days five to seven hours before we do (Jim and I are in the Eastern Time Zone), and so there will be some unavoidable lag.) If we've seemed quiet today, it's because Jim has been addressing the C++14 baseline issue. I have been trying to get my arms around the code generation issues raised in the e-mails and bug reports. Before I say, "Thank you" one last time, and before my day ends (it's 18:00 local time here, and we have evening plans), I started looking at the bugzilla list of "cobol" bugs. I need to be able to change, at the very least, the Assignment field. I don't seem to have any way of doing that. Oh, and again: Thank you. We can see what you are doing, and thank you. Bob Dubner
