GCC uses a *-*-*eabi patterns to destinguish EABI toolchains from other ABIs.
Your endeavour contradicts the spirit behind this.

I don't continue to argue with you about this topic since everything is said. You have the minority option here and it was decided by the rest of the RTEMS community to bring the ARM RTEMS tool chain back to the RTEMS structure and this is $ARCH-rtems$VERSION for the default target.

We also don't introduce a special case for arm-rtems. This special case is already there for arm-symbianelf.
