subject to a documentation nit. I ran out of time before stage3 ended .. and just got around to this now. re-tested on x86_64, powerpc64, powerpc64le, aarach64-linux, aix and solaris plus across the Darwin range, did a make pdf in gcc and checked the result visually, pushed to master with the nit fixed, as attached, thanks, Iain
