Patch http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2010-12/msg00625.html was approved by Jason last December but I never got around to checking it in. Paolo Carlini said in PR44473 that it was already approved and doesn't need a new approval, so I checked it in after a bootstrap and regtest of c,c++ for i686-pc-linux-gnu.
