Maybe we can say "This is the default choice for non-Darwin x86-32
targets." here?
And further extend:
"This is the default choice for the x86-64 compiler, Darwin x86-32
targets, and the default choice for x86-32 targets with SSE2
instruction set when @option{-ffast-math} is enabled."
