            Bug ID: 125580
           Summary: Misspelling the reflection operator as ^ ^ with a
                    space in between gives a confusing error message
           Product: gcc
           Version: 16.1.1
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: c++
          Assignee: unassigned at gcc dot gnu.org
          Reporter: programmer00001h at gmail dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

The problematic code

Code:

consteval{
    ^ ^3;
}

compiled with g++ -std=c++26 -freflection ice.cpp, GCC gives:

ice.cpp: In static member function ‘<lambda()> static’:
ice.cpp:2:5: error: reflection is only available in C++26 with ‘-freflection’
    2 |     ^ ^3;
      |     ^
ice.cpp:2:7: error: expected primary-expression before ‘^’ token
    2 |     ^ ^3;
      |       ^

The second error is expected, but GCC also forgot that -freflection was
enabled? somehow?
(While 3 is not a valid entity to reflect on, that is not relevant here; ^ ^int
also gives the same confusing error message. I chose to use a number here for
simplicity, because ^ ^int gives three errors instead of two.)

Output of gcc -v:
