Those typedef are arguably redundant (that code is not very actively worked on these days, maybe that will change...) but, IMH, not-language-lawyer, opinion should not trigger any warning: since, after all, __desc_type is consistently the same type. I would appreciate if someone could point me to relevant sections of the standard. Thanks.
