It's really great this long-standing issue has been finally fixed.
Looking quickly at the patch, I see that not all arch-specific code was
modified.
Does this feature still work on all targets? It's usually the 32-bit targets
such as hppa, m68k, ppc32 and sh4 that need -latomic when linking certain
programs.
