Can you provide the full dejagnu log for the running of the testcase?
make check-gcc RUNTESTFLAGS="cpp.exp=embed-10.c" should run the one testcase
again.
I use 1.6.3 also and they work for me:
[apinski@xeond2 gcc]$ dejagnu --version
dejagnu auxiliary launcher (DejaGnu) 1.6.3
