But I doubt Slackware's scripts interfere with GM2 subdirectories in any way. You can easily check Slackware-current scripts, they are available on any Slackware mirror. The mentioned mess in earlier 12.2 I found in Armbian though, not in Slackware. So it's rather unlikely it's Slackware-related in any way.
