Jim and I are in the process of a complete rewrite of how the declaratives and exception processing are handled. I believe that most, if not all, of the concerns raised here will be addressed. The resulting executables will be more efficient, as well. You should probably give us a chance to get that working; much of the existing code will be replaced.
