--- Comment #8 from Andi McClure <andi.m.mcclure at gmail dot com> --- I filed, then closed as duplicate when this bug was pointed out, a more detailed version of this bug related to GET_COMMAND_ARGUMENT: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=118735 As also pointed out in bug 113096, it appears full F2023 standard conformance (section 16.9.1) would require *all* builtin functions with INTENT(OUT) character string arguments to allow (and correctly allocate) deferred-allocation strings.
