I think this is at least in theory a regression already from GCC 11 to GCC 12
which introduced those d/root-%.d and d/common-%.d rules, i.e. r12-5703 and
r12-5849.
d/.deps/file.Tpo and d/.deps/string.Tpo were ambiguous already back then. But
it is no longer latent only since the recent changes.
