The only time I had this come up was from folks porting their code from MSVC to
GCC (or clang). I can see how this can be implemented using the note section
but it needs full itegration between GCC and the linker which currently GCC can
be used with some vendor linkers (though the number is small these days, I
think only AIX and Solaris and hpux is left).
