I made a number of fixes and improvements over the last several years, both in GCC (including fixing autoprofiledbootstrap) and in google/autofdo that's used to build create_gcov. The commit referenced in this bug improved count propagation algorithm and improved some benchmarks I was using at the time. If there is a repro for this regression, I'm happy to take a look.
