The both have the same linker warning:

eans the weak symbol cannot be overridden at runtime. This was likely caused by
different translation units being compiled with diff
erent visibility settings.

I am not sure what the "different visibility settings" are, or if it's just a
red herring, but the testcase is compiled with:
