--- Comment #4 from Andrew Pinski <pinskia at gcc dot gnu.org> --- If you force m to be always_inline, we are back to GCC 12 code generation. I don't think there is anything GCC can do with differently; the heurstics are not tuned for these small "benchmark" functions either.
