I can still reproduce the bug with:
gcc-8 (Debian 8.3.0-24) 8.3.0

However, I can no longer reproduce it with:
gcc-9 (Debian 9.2.1-19) 9.2.1 20191109

(tested with the original test case from PR79257, which had been marked as a
duplicate of this bug)
