In this case, I expect the current working directory to
be gcc4.9.2. "./configure" executes "configure" in the
current working directory.  I would expect to a command
of the form "../gcc-4.9.2/configure"  where the current
working directory is gcc4.9.2.

PS: 4.9.2 is no longer supported.  You should likely send
email to gcc-help@
