I have committed the workaround as:

* tree.c (fld_simplified_type): Temporarily disable array
simplification.
* gcc.c-torture/pr88140.c: New testcase.
forgot to cut&past the PR specifier into the commit log.
Shall we retarget this to GCC 10 now?
