--- Comment #12 from Dominique d'Humieres <dominiq at lps dot ens.fr> --- > However, quite honestly, as a volunteer contributor to an open-source project, > I guess I'm free to choose whether I want to contribute at all, and when > and how to contribute. I'm sure my priorities don't always match yours > or that of other people, but yes, believe it or not, right now this PR here > is an issue to me, so I choose to devote some of my spare time to it, > because it scratches a personal itch. Not much more to say. You are indeed free to use your spare time as you like. However contributions to a *reviewed* open-source project involve time from other people (including bike shedding). For the present PR if -Wconversion-extra is still important for you, why don't you add it to your list of options? Note the last post is over a year old, thus I am proposing to close this PR as WONTFIX.
