I didn't think it would be helpful to post the patch in its current form to gcc-patches. However I'm happy to do so if it seems useful. Looking at my schedule realistically the earliest I would have time to do significant work on this would be February... I'm on the hook for already-late-ish changes for a January release date at DayJob. Sorry for that :(.
