Good to know that it is fixed.
But more interesting question from my perspective is "When (if) the fix reaches
the users, i.e. included in official Altera Nios2 EDS?".
Considering that this year's version is still the same 5.3.0 as the last
year's, I am not optimistic about seeing gcc8 this decade. Most likely not gcc7
either.
So, unless it is fixed in gcc6, it would be a long wait.
BTW, do you see the problem in the 5.3 maintained by gnu.org?
My biggest fear is that it was introduced in Altera's private branch that
simply didn't reach the upstream yet.
