Solaris 2.7 and Solaris 2.8 are really old; according to Wikipedia support was dropped for them in 2008 and 2012 respectively. I'm going to be bold and assume that support for them is no longer something gcc needs to worry about, but please feel free to reopen if I'm wrong.
