I see gcc-ar, gcc-nm, and gcc-ranlib on my builds from 4.8 up to trunk (8.0)
and they all fail with "Cannot find plugin 'liblto_plugin.so'" when run with
-v.
Unless someone wants to work on this issue, I propose to close it as WONTFIX.
