Thomas, I very much appreciate you working on this problem. What I do not
understand is why all of a sudden gfortran folks who are scarce have to fix
something somebody else broke for no apparent good reason regarding a warning
feature.
IMHO its stupid that something like this is turned on for bootstrap. breaking
everything, and that somehow being acceptable to gcc maintainers. Whatever it
was should have been backed out. The offending patch was not adequate, whatever
it was, and should not have gone into trunk to begin with.
Or putting it another way, why do we give a rip about bootstrapping at -O3, gcc
is not released bootstrapped at -O3 and never has been. No I think you have
done enough, let it fail at -O3
