Ah, OK.  It looks like I have never actually read all the details from the
managing bugs page!

I've just gone all the way down to GCC 4.8 and the testcase is failing from
then clearly showing the code is rare.

The ICE in the testsuite results make this failure seem worse than it is I
guess.  Just an unfortunate testcase that exposes a long term bug.
