OK, so this is more of a documentation issue.

Also not mentioned in the docs is that "default" has to be among
the architectures in target_clone.

It is also not mentioned what happens if we try to compile
for AVX on PowerPC.  I'll find out :-)

I'll submit a documentation patch.
