Thanks, that is the first time someone on the gcc side has said something that makes sense. Of course, possibly I missed or misunderstood previous arguments. That said, I still think the project made a bad decision on this one, and spent time implementing something that has broken a lot of code and caused users (not just developers) a lot of grief.
