I'd suggest you look at libgomp's affinity related configury and ifdefs. HAVE_PTHREAD_AFFINITY_NP test in libgomp/configure* and then looking at how it deals with the various versions of the glibc affinity APIs (AFAIK there were 3 different ones). Also, make sure you handle > 1024 CPUs properly.
