The warning is IMHO correct as is and we don't currently have a warning for C++ that would warn if the source isn't also valid C, so FTTB we simply need to do --disable-build-poststage1-with-cxx from time to time to make sure it works well (I use it for rpm builds from release branches, but not for the trunk bootstraps).
