"unfortunately" -flto-partition=1to1 fixes the ICE for the library in question.
I do not have any other standing ICE at the moment.

I've applied the patch in comment 9 on the top of
gcc version 4.7.1 20120504 (prerelease) [gcc-4_7-branch revision 187154] (GCC) 
and now the library builds.
No obvious side effects.
