I have a fix for this in progress see also PR 51784.
JFTR, I suspect the issue is moot in clang/llvm because they don't support
nested functions AFAICT - but use 'blocks' instead.
BTW, is there any access to the 'positron' branch - was it ever on an FSF
server?
