If you look in config.log you'll see this: /home/builduser/cross-avr-gcc/BUILD/cross-mipsel-gcc-4.6.2/gcc-mipsel/./gcc/as: line 87: exec: -E: invalid option So the problem is nothing to do with the prerequisite libraries.
