Bug #: 50893 Summary: [C++0x] explicitly defaulted virtual destructor throw specification Classification: Unclassified Product: gcc Version: 4.7.0 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: c++ AssignedTo: unassig...@gcc.gnu.org ReportedBy: jarr...@cse.unsw.edu.au The following code fails to compile: class Base { public: virtual ~Base() = default; }; class Derived : public Base { public: virtual ~Derived() = default; }; g++ -std=gnu++0x except.cpp except.cpp:10:11: error: looser throw specifier for ‘virtual Derived::~Derived()’ except.cpp:4:11: error: overriding ‘virtual Base::~Base() noexcept (true)’ I think, according to 15.4.14, that Derived should, by default, have the same exception specification as Base, ie. noexcept(true). Therefore, this code should compile. Using built-in specs.
