updated stack check test
mea culpa...
... I should have said to put ulimit -s 8192.
I've attached an updated version which iterates more times and does what's
expected with default ulimits on ppc/x86 d9 and x86 d10.
it's slightly refined on ppc - and should give a different termination message
when -fstack-check is in force.
(the old version is still perfectly OK for checking code-gen, BTW).
