If I say /src/gcc/configure -prefix=$HOME, and it can't find /usr/lib/libgmp.a,
etc., perhaps it should probe as if I said -with-gmp=$HOME?
Similarly, if it doesn't already, it should probe /usr/local, well, er, if I
omit -prefix -- so equivalent to the first suggestion.
