GCC 4.2.x (especially 4.2.1) is an important version of our compiler since: * It is able to compile most of the "old" (Andrew might say "poorly written, pre-Standard") C++ source that is over a few years old -- IE: Most C++, except recently written (and especially GCC ;) available on the Internet ). * It works "fairly well" -- _Some_ of the _months_ showed very few Bugs (with only a rare "bad day") in User-submitted Test Reports. * Many patches, Operating System Driver Code (Debian), plug-ins, etc. were written for non-bleeding-edge GCC and would need porting. So yes the Bug is 2 years old but I _really_ appreciate you fixing it and wanted to make this extra effort to thank you as we close this one out.
