Are you sure about that? For me, configuring with --enable-checking=no still yields loads of regressions in the Fortran testsuite. Other configure options I use are --enable-languages=c,fortran --disable-multilib --disable-bootstrap. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=41395
