On x86_64:

With 4.3.3:

$ ./a.out
 subroutine with explicit interface and unroll(1):    1.5400960      s

With 4.4.0:

$ ./a.out
 subroutine with explicit interface and unroll(1):    1.5480961      s

Probably target-specific.
