It works for me on darwin as well, but with gcc 4.0.1 (which is what MacPorts provides). Which version are you using? I got the problem on gcc 4.3.2 on Arch Linux. Thanks for looking into this. Mike -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37995
