I do recall that I tried...

* { dg-options ".... -mno-mmx" { target i?86-*-* x86_64-*-* } } */
/* { dg-options ".... -fno-common -mno-mmx { target ... *-*-darwin *-*-mingw32*
*-*-cygwin* } } */

and that causes many more tests in struct-layout-1 to fail.
