The patch does required his associated patch to binutils-2.18 has documented at http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5606 Testing Environment: Sun Solaris 10 Update 4 running on Sun Ultra 40 M2, with a single patch (mentioned above) applied to binutils-2.18 released tar ball.
