The regular perl testsuite fails as well:
t/op/override.............................ok
t/op/pack.................................Invalid type ']' in unpack at
op/pack.t line 1363.

FAILED--expected 13864 tests, saw 4348
this is with perl 5.8.8 and building with -O2. It might just be a latent
problem with perl though.
