The C++ frontend generates a broken diagnostic for the following code snippet since GCC 3.4.0:
======================= void foo() { if (throw 0) ; } ======================= bug.cc: In function 'void foo()': bug.cc:3: error: could not convert 'throw((__cxa_allocate_exception(4u), #'must_not_throw_expr' not supported by dump_expr#<expression error>), __cxa_throw(<anonymous>, ((void*)(& _ZTIi)), 0u))' to 'bool' The "'must_not_throw_expr' not supported by dump_expr" is not implemented, and the rest of the error message isn't very helpful either. -- Summary: [4.1/4.2/4.3 regression] Broken diagnostic: 'must_not_throw_expr' not supported by dump_expr Product: gcc Version: 4.3.0 Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: diagnostic, monitored Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: c++ AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org ReportedBy: reichelt at gcc dot gnu dot org http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=33492
