Here is a reduced test case. I think the problem is related to having the optimizer remove the gdb_diedHP routine and thus leaving gdb_exceptionHP without a barrier after its return/jump. I haven't dug into it any further yet. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31733
