I still think the text can be improved; how about like this: gcc: installation problem, cannot exec GNU Java Compiler '/usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.0.3/jc1': * This includes the full-path, as this is hard coded per build of gcc as I understand it. i.e. "jc1" is not in the PATH. * This change is needed because: (a) the present error mentions a directory (b) an indication of what jc1 actually is helps the user resolve the problem.
