Fixing it completely after the fact is going to be very complex, I'm afraid. I'll try to spend some more time on those issues, but if Doug, the original author, doesn't provide any special hint, I'm afraid we have to live with that or even, for consistency, remove the minimal MT support currently present and add something clear to the documentation.
